Churro stand N. Lamar and Rundburg

luckyfatima Jun 17, 2013 11:13 AM

They sell cream filled churros. Anyone stopped by yet? It's there on the Sonic side.

I am planning to and will report. I love churros but they are kind of like McDonalds fries in that they are great when piping hot and meh when cooled down and useless after a day. Also, a lot of bakeries here use cheap corn syrupy bad jelly donut type filling. I can't wait to check this place out and see if these are the churros of my dreams, though. I am guessing they will sell super fresh ones. Until then, just a heads up about the place.

So after trying for 2 mornings (sign says closed on Wednesday), I have discovered that this is a defunct churro stand.

I guess I will have to go back to getting churros from bakeries and just trying to get lucky when it comes to arriving when they are freshest in the morning.

So, I had sent my brother to get a pound of barbacoa from El Tacorrido and told him to check out the churro place. I see now how they will be solving the McDonald's french fry churro conundrum. The little stand is only open from 6:30 am to 10:30 am daily. Breakfast churros. Mmmmmh. I will definitely be having some soon and will report back if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Wondering if they also serve hot chocolate or other churro accompaniments.
