Burgundy's Les Saint Georges applies for promotion to Grand Cru
I, for one think that would be a mistake for several reasons.
1. In 50 years I have not had a single NSG that I consider GC quality.
2. The best NSGs in my experience have come from other vineyards - Pruliers, Boudots and a couple of others.
3. There are vineyards in each of the other Cote de Nuits appellations that that consistently produce GC quality wines but not necessarily as consistently as the current GCs.
4. As Freddy Mugnier says it will open a Pandora's Box.
