Ketchum Idaho Report
Spent a weekend in Ketchum and wanted to share our thoughts on several dinners, lunches and one breakfast.
Rickshaw was our favorite meals. Asian street food...tried four small plates...satay, pot stickers, a grilled pork special with noodles. Wonderful flavors and fresh herbs.
Perry's for lunch. Had a turkey sandwich and French dip. While the bread was good, both had very little meat. The turkey was composed of two slices of turkey and lots of lettuce.
Enoteca. We dropped in for an early dinner around 5PM. Very attractive room. The restaurant was empty but the host had a difficult time finding a table for us. He hoped we would just sit at the bar and order dinner there. Ended up at a table near the door. The wine list by the glass was excellent...nice Cristom Pinot. My husband tried a local Idaho beer and was happy with it as well. We ordered a salad. It was a chunk of romaine lettuce with a ribbon of creamy dressing and one small tomato...no flavor and probably one of the worst salads I have had in a long time. Next we ordered two pizzas. Very bland... Our waitress however was very good...nice, considerate service. Wanted to like this place but cannot recommend it.
Blue Bird Day Cafe Very nice breakfast ...great eggs, pancakes and potatoes. Really nice service on a sunny or shady seat on their patio.
Velocio... Beautiful new coffee shop and wine bar where Tully's used to be. We sat at the bar hoping to order a glass of wine for about 15 minutes. Finally got a server's attention and was told to go stand in line. Decided to leave as the line was too long. As we were getting up to leave another person approached and offered to get us a glass of wine. I think they are new so I hope they will iron out the service issues.
