PizzaWorks opening on Bathurst at King.

Anybody know anything about this chain with a not too promising sounding name?

I do! A friend of mine is employed by them, right now they are just working out of a small test kitchen. He's brought me some samples, my understanding is that it's going to be personal pizzas made to order and the pizzas are cooked in an oven that bakes them in like 2 minutes. The BBQ chicken pizza that I tried was pretty tasty..

I have a business card in my car from him, it's Pizzaworks, not Pizzaworx. White and red text on a black background

Ask me any questions and I'll get the answers for you

      Any connection to Cheeseworks/werks/werx?

I don't think so, it's a new venture based out of the USA is my understanding, but I will find out

He told me the date, I just forgot. I believe within the next month or so.

I'll see him at the pub this week, maybe even tomorrow, and find out for you

O_O More pizza joints in the 'hood?!

          OK saw my buddy yesterday..

          It opens next week.

He says it's a Canadian owned & operated concept, but I think it's modeled after an american chain called 800 Degrees

The concept is custom pizzas made to order in front of you from start to finish in under 5 minutes.. The pizza bakes at a super high temperature

          Hope this helps!

Sounds like an interesting concept. As long as the ingredients are good, this could work.

it sounds like kramer's 'make your own pizza' restaurant

The BBQ chicken pizza he brought to the pub for us one night was pretty tasty to me.. It wasn't using those nasty processed white meat chicken strips with painted on grill marks but they actually shredded up a rotiserrie chicken and used it as a topping, white and dark meat both. Crust was nice and thin, etc. Was only room temperature when I had it but I'd think a nice crispy well done one would be nice. Didn't ask about pricing but hopefully it's reasonable

He says it's made every single day, they have a giant stand mixer you'll see, and he emphasizes there is no freezer or microwave on the premises at all
