BYOB within about a half hour of Freehold suggestions please?

I would appreciate suggestions for a group of friends interested in good food but it must be BYOB. Italian, or seafood would be great , but really open to other suggestions. Price, don't know but reasonable what ever that means would be helpful. A group of probably 10 friends so not sure what everyone likes or wants to spend. Just want to be able to make suggestions. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

  1. Two of the better BYOBs in Monmouth County are Belford Bistro in Belford and Drew's Bayshore Bistro in Keyport. Both have their own websites, well trained chefs, and have been reviewed extensively on the CHOW.

Perfect! Thank you so much cke25! I have been to Drew's and been wanting to try Belford Bistro. Now, why didn't I think of that! Wonderful suggestions, very much appreciated!

cke25's recommendations are spot on however I would caution about trying to get a reservation for such a large group on a Friday or Saturday night as they are hard to come by. I would instead try for during the week were you will have much better luck getting a reservation.

      1. La cipollina in freehold in a good spot. They have a TOP NOTCH ribeye! It is huge, prime grade and one of the best steaks I have ever had (for what its worth I eat steaks all over the country/world)

Literally these steaks can top 30oz. I am not sure if they just serve me big steaks since I go there with a group of guys from work, but they definitely impress me.

The apps there are small, but tasty. IMO they are not worth the price. If you like rib eyes, they don't come much better in this area.

        1. Taka in Asbury Park would be my rec but I'm not certain it's within 1/2 hour for you

Taka is buying a liquor license from closed Synaxis , check and see if they are still BYOB.

Just went to Taka for the first time over the weekend. Still BYOB.
Food & service were both great. It is not traditional/authentic Japanese food but I loved their modern/local take on it.
The short rib dish is great. My kids loved the chicken teriyaki.

          2. PS, la cipollina is in freehold. I drive a half hour to get there so you are local.
