Another question....has anyone seen Himalayan salt plates/blocks recently in Calgary?? I have seen them before at Cookbook Co. but they don't have any in at the moment. I have tried all of the other major cooking stores, but thought I would see if anyone had run across them anywhere. Thanks!

    You might check with Myric - they have some items on their website.
    http://www.myric.com/Salt-Rox-4x8x2-N...
    Scroll to the bottom of the page to see other choices.

    BTW I think the dimensions on the sushi plate are wrong (s/b 4x8x1 judging by the picture

    )

    I have had good luck finding things (mostly appliance related) at Myric - it's a little hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere run by a nice (East Indian?) couple.

      You could try Savour Fine Foods or Bite Groceteria, both in Inglewood. I've only seen them at Cookbooks Co.

        I bought mine at Chapters of all places. It is roughly 12"x5"x1".
