Sylvestor's Burgers is opening it's 3rd county location in Oceano, near the Melodrama on Cienega (Highway 1) downtown Oceano. They serve regular and Hearst Ranch beef , Elk, and Buffalo burgers, hot dogs, salads, fries, shakes, etc, A local business, with fair pricing. Their burgers are juicy and tasty; sometimes it's hard to get yours cooked to order if you like med rare. Just sayin, they can get slammed and burgers get overcooked. Slo Breeze Cafe opened on South Higuera in the strip-mall spot vacated by Neon Carrot. Part-owner/Chef Sam Zaugg has cooked at Los Olivos Cafe and Wine Cottage Bistro in Old Orcutt; both places known for quality dining experiences. dining. They corn their own beef, which earns it a spot on my radar. Open M-F for lunch.

Chef Rick is open in the space of The Tamale Shop in Santa Maria; on Blosser, 1/2 block north of Betteravia. Best approached from the north on Blosser due to a median strip. Lunch offerings change daily, you can get a daily menu email or check their website for day's menu. Rick is catering out of the kitchen there and is open M-F for lunch only. His old cafe's menu favorites are featured, as well as new ideas.
