Napa Valley article in Sunset Magazine June 2013 issue
Did anyone read The Real Napa Valley article in Sunset Magazine June 2013 issue pages 24 & 26? Some new places to me:
Napa Valley Biscuits
1502 Main St, Napa
Pappy sandwich - 2 waffles, fried chicken, pepper jam, bacon, & syrup for dipping
Mr. Pickles sandwich-fried chicken between biscuits, whole-grain mustard, pickles, honey drizzled all over it.
6526 Yount St, Yountville
hotel has bar snacks & monthly summer event called Dive Bar
1320 Main St, St. Helena
restaurant has cool tequila & mazcal bar.
They serve fried grasshoppers that you dip in guacamole, not on the menu, you have to ask for them.
Clemente's Authentic Italian Takeout
1531 Third St, Napa
Malfatti-dumplings made w/ spinach, bread crumbs, & cheese.
Clemente makes them in the back of a liquor store called Val's
a dozen malfatti for $5.
1400 Schramsberg Rd, Calistoga
cave & taste their sparkling wines
they make an Italian white variental called Ribolla Gialla - clean & crisp, goes well w/ rich foods
6476 Washington St, Yountville
Haven't heard much about this place lately, any recent reports?
They mentioned food is clean & not overly complex, floats, sundaes, salads w/ simple emulsified vinaigrettes.
