Red Hot Wok in Cupertino - any reports?

I'd heard good things about their shaved ice, so I stopped by on Saturday night after Orenchi. And stood in line. Again. There were five names ahead of me on the list, and auntie had a separate list in her hand with reservations.

I eventually threw in the towel and asked for a large (!!!) green tea to go, which I ate ah-beng style outside. Creamy, not too sweet, with nicely chewy (and not mushy) beans.

Judging by the other diners, three cup chicken is the dish to get. Has anyone tried it yet?

Beans are rarely photogenic, but those ice shavings look great.

      Taiwanese-y menu, I gather?

The rather belated answer to your question is yes, it is Taiwanese-y. And according to the same friends who recommended the shaved ice, the clay pot (SBJ or otherwise), piggie over rice and bitter melon are the hot items. I have yet to make another attempt.

    2. I didn't put it together at the time you posted, but Red Hot Wok is the Taiwanese restaurant that took over Smiling House (and before that, Rice Cafe) that I found mid-construction.

Here's a new report from FattyDumplin on Red Hot Wok's perfect bitter melon and salted egg.
