Masterchef 6/12

Worship of Walmart groceries. Really? It's good to be a corporate giant with big bucks to spend strategically.

Do you think viewers buy the hype?

  1. I detest Krissy and Natasha. I think they're both bullies.

I can't believe it took two hours to eliminate one person. Do they really need to stretch this show out?

Isn't Natasha stupid to sabotage her own team? The losing team faces eliminating challenge. There's no throwing your teammate under the bus.

      I agree that was ridiculous

Lately the editing is a give away. I forget her name, but when they were showing the one cook saying that she makes eggs benedict all the time..I told my daughter watch she goes home. She did badly. The whole second hour was a waste. I think they should have sent Luca home as the other girl was starting to blossom more.

Agreed about sending Luca home. Especially since his bad burgers lost them the challenge in the first place.

      2. Dang it, I must have driven right by the Pasadena city hall when they were filming. I remember seeing something going on with the fire truck ladders up.

If the firefighters were off-duty, why were they allowed to use the fire trucks with sirens and flashing lights? Suppose there had been a fire and no trucks were available. How much did that cost the taxpayers?

          1. re: mucho gordo

Just a guess, but possibly a VERY generous donation by the network was in order? Also, they were off-duty, and maybe the first response equipment was not being used? I live in a small town, and we have several rigs ready to go. Also, it's not like they can't pull those rigs off the shot if needed. Probably in the contract, legally.

Just my two cents. (Both my kids are firefighters, to disclose.)

        2. Garbage. Pure garbage. If I wanted to watch Hell's Kichen, I would.

How does yelling at people when they are already under stress motivate them to do better?

          2. Am I the only one that finds this show contrived and tedious? That was the s-l-o-w-e-s-t 2hours on television and it wasn't even interesting.

Dull challenges, massively unlikable participants and a pervading sense of self importance. I think I'm done with MC.

The pacing of this week was dreadful. The pacing I've become accustomed to was episode 1 - team challenge + elimination round, episode 2 - mystery box + elimination round. However, this week you had team challenge followed by essentially 3 elimination rounds.

In general, this has never been my favorite show but moderately watchable. But these two episodes didn't work well together.

I don't like the outside challenges either. I liked it much better when they cooked all the challenges in the kitchen.

Oh, yeah. Slowest is right. I looked at the clock and couldn't believe we had another hour to go. What? I don't find anyone on this season remotely likeable or interesting.

                  1. re: DiningDiva

I haven't even watched this recent episode, and I probably won't unless I just want something on in the background and Food Network is on one of their DDD marathons. I haven't watched before this season but just in the first few episodes I've found it exactly how you described it, contrived and tedious. Last week's episode (the one w/ the school) felt very slow too...

                  2. I'm really bored with burger challenges.
