The Perfect Scoop - Summer 2013

It's that time of year!!! I'm in search of the perfect scoop of ice cream across the Great Plains.

Who and where are your favorite purveyors of the creamy, delectable stuff? I'm especially interested in Iowa and the St Louis area.

      Glace is sublime.

    2. I'm not so much about the ice cream, but I do think your trip would not be complete without a visit to Crown Candy Kitchen and to Ted Drewes while you are in St. Louis. There is a newish place down on Cherokee Street: http://www.iscreamcakes.com/, I think their custom cakes are the emphasis, but they do scoops and cones, and they do some really interesting flavor combinations.

      1. Also, in St. Louis (actually Webster Groves) we have Serendipity which is very cute.

        1. Good topic, just in time to prepare for July, National Ice Cream Month.

Here's my post on Murray's in Kansas City.

          1. I'm going to STL next week. Can't wait to try the recommendations there! The KC ones sound fantastic too. This is off topic, but has anyone been to Winslow's?

Yes, I've been to Winslows many times (assuming you mean the one here in STL). It's very cute, one of my favorite lunch spots.
