Downtown Burger

Chicago Wine Geek Jun 11, 2013 04:08 PM

Trailer across the street from the convention center. Only open for lunch, walked by today and there was a HUGE line. Anyone been? Any good?

My recollection is a decent basic Texas burger but it has been a year or two as I work ten blocks north.

I office right around the corner and eat there once a month or so. Great char grilled burger. Fries are really good too. Owner is one of the nicest guys around. Good fresh veggies.

Are they grilled over a fire of some sort?

I've been going back there of late, enjoying the walk from San Jacinto and 11th on the cool days we've been having. I really think it might be the best burger downtown. Not overcooked patties, fresh vegetables, great guy. Burger options downtown are amazingly limited at weekday lunch hour...Wholly Cow (pricey, overseasoned, inconsistently cooked, and SLOW) and Roaring Fork (good but also pricey for a lunch burger and too "ish").

Driskil hotel has legit burgers in the bar. Lamberts does burgers too doesn't it?

I'll strap on my sneakers. If I am going that far, I may stop at Jo's.
