Pho delivery to Van Ness and California/Sacramento/Clay area? [San Francisco]

  • 2

Not sure if it's considered Pac Heights, Russian Hill, Tenderknob, etc... sort of no man's land in between the Marina/Cow Hollow and Pac Heights?

Anyhow, I've been having a lot of frustration with pho delivery in this neck of the woods. I realize it's a short walk to Little Saigon, but there are days like today where I NEED good delivery and there's absolutely nothing on GrubHub, Seamless, etc.

The places that advertise as "delivery" on Yelp do not necessarily deliver - despite the fact that it's an 8 min. walk, they will mostly venture within a 6 block radius on foot and I'm constantly being turned down when I call for being 'out of range'.

The only good delivery I've found (not pho though!) seem to be Tony's in N.Beach and Lers Ros. I've got nothing else...

First and foremost, who will deliver really good pho and imperial rolls in this neighborhood? I've been in the mood for pho delivery for weeks now!

And on a broader scale... what are some good restaurant delivery options in general; especially Chinese?

Thanks!!

  1. You are asking for something that might be impossible. Pho needs to be eaten fresh. Delivered pho is going to have noodles that are a soggy mess by the time it gets to you which ruins the dish. Your best bet is to ask the place to deliver the soup and buy your own noodles and cook them yourself and add them to the soup. If you can boil water this is an option for you.

Not really, most delivery places separate the ingredients so that the broth, noodles, vegetables, meat, etc. are all in separate containers and you mix them together yourself in a large bowl upon receiving. At least that's always been my experience.
