40th birthday party ideas - Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington etc.

  • 6

My wife is turning 40 in a few months and I'm trying to figure out where to throw her a birthday party in Cambridge, Somerville, or somewhere nearby.

I'm pretty flexible on cuisine, but looking for a nice indoor space for 20-30 people with a budget of around $40-50/person. Any suggestions?

  1. Not sure if they can accommodate that large of a party, but my wife would prefer Oleana. Perhaps Puritan - it has a large communal table. There is a large side room at West Bridge that probably works and I had a great meal there recently.

That's exACTly what i was going to say- Oleana. But I would see if you could reserve the patio. What a cool shady lovely lovely spot. The menu is tremendous, with a wide variety of small and large plates and lots of unique dishes, plus VERY popular desserts. But just fyi, no hard liquor at bar.

For an indoor space, I think Rendezvous is a great space; very popular.Really good relaxed comfortable vibe.Top quality French and Mediterranean food; chef/owner on board every night.

That West Bridge space is most likely too small. More appropriate for a group of 15 or less.

      2. Posto has a private space. Not sure of the size. They offer a pig roast as well.

EVOO has three private dining rooms and I think one might fit your party. The outdoor patio is lovely though I don't know if you can reserve it. The food is very good and the service is generally very good as well. Gran Gusto might be another, different option.

        2. Belly does an arm and a leg dinner with a "nose to tail" type vibe - I think it's for a bit smaller of a group though.

Do you need the space for 20-30 to be a private space?
