    Everything is good.

Get what you're in the mood for.

I, unlike everyone on the planet, was underwhelmed by the chicken specifically, and NoMad in general... but you can't go there and NOT get it, can you?

I've been there lots of times without having it.

It's possible to think for yourself without doing whatever strangers on the internet tell you, believe it or not.

The reason the OP posted is that he wanted the opinions of the strangers on the Internet. Seems he had a great time with our recommendation. People who don't want the opinion of strangers are the Internet won't/don't post on these boards.

Definitely get the chicken! I usually won't eat chicken in a restaurant unless it's fried. The chicken at The NoMad is very special. You can always return and order from the rest of the menu.

              Loved the chicken!
Just like you, ellenost, I too, normally don't order chicken unless it's crispy fried, but NoMad's chicken was truly exceptional. It blew me away.

Question.. How's the vibe in Nomad?? I know the foods amazing.. But is it cool casual?? Been wanting to check it out.. But will pass if the place is stuffy uptight??.. I like the crowd at The Breslin.. And the food is out of this world!!??.. Just wondering thanx!!

                It's not stuffy.

I'd call it "young people playing dress-up".

Not sure which chicken you refer to. My comment is on the chicken sandwich during brunch.
While the chicken sandwich was just OK, it didn't live up to expectations that most here hyped it up to be.

Just my opinion but I think the translation of the chicken into a sandwich offered for brunch is fantastic; I've had it multiple times and never been disappointed. I like it so much in fact that I have to be talked into ordering other brunch items at times so I don't keep getting the same thing.

Well, considering chicken is not something I'm ever in the mood for in a fine dining establishment, and pictures of this particular bird didn't really look that appetizing (to me), I needed a little help. Tho I must say lately I pay closer to attention to chicken dishes. It started with the amazing chicken at Louro and continued with Scarpetta and the fried chicken at The Dutch. But Nomad's version was probably the best we ever had, and at $78 we expected nothing less. Every bite with that skin, the moist juicy meat and the goodies in between was a palate pleaser. And loved the dark meat with the garlic espuma
We also enjoyed the Taglietele with king crab and the Egg dish. Especially the egg. A little underwhelmed by the milk and honey tho. Preferred the chocolate. We sat in the "tourist section" at least thats what it felt. The main room you see when you get in. It surely felt like eating in a hotel restaurant but I didn't mind that at all. The room was lit well so I was able to take some nice pics (if anyone is interested I can post them).

I (finally) made a reservation for brunch at The NoMad; I've been wanting to try the chicken sandwich. I am sorry to hear that The NoMad no longer has the dessert cart at brunch; I loved their Kouign Amann!

The chicken is worth getting just for the spectacle/experience of it. It is certainly delicious. I plan on going back soon, but i don't know if I would order it again unless I split it with 3/4 people and order other stuff.

I got the chicken the first time I went and enjoyed it very much, but I think their suckling pig is also excellent, and they have a pretty fine lobster dish as well.

no do not get the chicken, there are far more tasty things on the menu. if you like the "show" just wait some other table to have it.

the foie and truffle are really just "scent-ing" the chicken. The chicken is still white meat it's mostly just salty and not complex in flavor.

instead, get the crab pasta, duck and milk and honey.
