Per Se now has a new prix fixe system for lunch.
Per Se's lunch menu used to offer three different versions: tasting menu, vegetarian menu, and simplified lunch menu.
Now, they have eliminated the simplified menu and instead, offer prix fixe options out of the tasting menu:
* full 9 course tasting menu $295 (service included)
* 7 course $235 (service included)
* 5 course $195 (service included)
For 7 course, which I had, we can get either one seafood/fish dish & two meat dishes, or two seafood/fish dishes & one meat dish.
This was good for me because I am a bit tired of Per Se's butter poached lobster (although it is very good, I had it too many times) and I could skip it.
We can also choose from either cheese or sherbet.
Per Se also has a few new dishes that have replaced its previous signature appetizers/ petit fours now. It seems oysters & pearls has been replaced by cauliflower panna cotta with sterling white sturgeon caviar.
I also loved Per Se's Japanese Miyazaki beef this time, which was so flavorful and tender.
Service was impeccable, as usual.
Dessert was nothing to write home about... the only complaint I have about Per Se these days... Where have all those sophisticated desserts of Per Se gone?
