Barcelona for 5 nights in June

Hi all, I badly need your help to figure out eating in Barcelona. I know there are a ton of posts on this topic already, and I've been through all of them, but I still can't narrow down my options. I arrive early in the night of the 19th, and will probably (if I'm not too jetlagged) want to eat something traditionally Catalonian and near my hotel (Renaissance on Carrer de Pau Claris), and then go to sleep pretty early. I was thinking tapas near the hotel. From then on, I have 4 full days and a lunch to plan. As of right now, I have reservations at Alkimia, Lasarte, Pakta (lunch), Cinc Sentis, and Espai Sucre for the dessert tasting. I'm trying my hardest to get a reservation at Sant Pau, but I don't know if that will work out.

Unfortunately my budget does not allow me to eat at all of the above restaurants, so I'm going to have to pick and choose. Although obviously this is a subjective question, at which of the above should I eat? Am I missing anything that's better (besides Tickets and 41 degrees, which of course I can't get reservations to)?

Also, I would like to do a tapas crawl one night, as well as eat at the Boqueria. Any recommendations for either? I know this is a pretty general post, please ask any questions that would help you narrow down your advice.

Thanks very much for helping out a Barcelona newbie!!!

  1. We really liked Quim at the Boqueria Market. Excellent food. It was crowded, but we were able to get a couple of stools together.
