  • h

Check out the details at the link and listen to the finalists.
I cast my vote for Enoch K & friends from Chicago, IL.
Some really talented folks entered.
I love me some right out of a fresh can Folgers!

Oh man, why be snobby, kengk. I love all kinds of coffee. Have fun with the jingle contest...drink whatever you like. A 10K prize is nothing to sneer at anyways..

      1. re: HillJ

I drink Folgers, Maxwell House or Eight O'Clock.

        BTW, nice edit.

        1. re: kengk

          You're welcome : ).
So if you drink the stuff why the "throw the coffee away" comment?

          1. re: HillJ

People really don't get sarcasm here. I guess it's the nature of the interwebz.

            1. re: kengk

lol, no you're right I didn't read that into your comment at all. I don't get sarcasm on the Net at all. my bad then.

now, back to the Folger jingles. The videos are quite professional this year. Hard to pick just one finalist.

Here's the true "Folgers Jingle" that my son entered. It did not make the top ten and I'm a biased mom. Seriously. I think Folgers goes for the more "emo" type of advertisement song. They should change the name of the contest from Jingle Contest to " Folgers' emotional I'm a serious artist" contest.
LOL--Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned!!!

Very cool, jarona! It's so generous of you to share your son's entry here. There's always the next jingle around the corner. I hope you encourage him to keep at it! He has a beautiful presence on camera.

My two SIL's entered the Pringle's Jingle contest a few years back and didn't make it but had a blast putting a video together. One of the two SIL's was a lead singer for a long running NJ rock band from late 70's to the mid 90's...and she didn't make the cut.

Thanks HillJ. The beauty of it is he (my son) works for SNL. The crew saw the entry the week Justin Timberlake was hosting. JT saw it and said...."dude, if you don't make the top ten, I will do an entry with you next year"...how's that for fun:)

              1. re: jarona

SNL launch pad...not too shabby either! Great back story, jar.

              2. re: HillJ

EVERYTHNG is better with a some J.T!

          1. re: jarona

He is absolutely adorable. I hate folders coffee but I would buy it just because of that jingle! They missed the boat on contracting with him first! :)

            1. re: sedimental

Thank you so much for that nice compliment to him. I honestly felt he kept up with the true meaning of "jingle"..but hey, rejection makes one stronger:)

          2. +1 for Enoch K. from Chicago !!!

That band is very very contemporary, and very Phillip Phillips-esque ... http://www.phillipphillips.com/splash... . I'm dropping that name because I'd love to see him join those folks and WIN this thing for sure !!!

I always thought Steve Forbert's voice would have translated well to the Folger's jingle.

              1. re: HillJ

Thanks for posting that Forbert video. Ya know...you're right! his voice would definitely have translated well!

                1. re: HillJ

He (Steve F) has played NJ (where I live) so many times. I feel like he's from here.

                  1. re: HillJ

LOL. I used to live in the (609) area code. Exit 8A. What exit you at?

              2. As anyone knows who ever saw Christmas in July:

If you can't sleep at night, it's not the coffee, it's the bunk!
