Trying to find the best places (and best days) to buy fish in Madison. The west side of town is preferable, but I'll venture out more if it's really good. Thanks for any help.

Not being a Madison regular, I would be interested in hearing an answer as well.

Are you asking about fish mongers or restaurants?

Fish mongers. I'm going to be coming from out of state to help a friend and will be doing some cooking.

That is nice of you to help a friend and do the cooking. While I have not been there since last year, there is an outfit called Seafood Center which had good quality seafood flown in daily. I believe they have multiple locations but I am not sure if there is one on the West Side.

I don't think my reply to you posted, so forgive me if it shows up twice. Thank you! I did read about the Seafood Centers and definitely have to check them out. I'll let you know.

There is also a Whole Foods on University Avenue which I am sure would carry very good seafood. Expensive, but good. :-)

Yes! I forgot about Whole Foods. Thank you for the reminder. I'll definitely post what I find out about fish in Madison!
