some friends want to have Sat lunch in downtown L..A.with a view (they want to eat in a skyscraper) . . .preferably with costs reasonable. Any suggestions?
The Ritz Carlton bar -- WP 24 (which stands for Wolfgang Puck on the 24th floor) has good tapas and drinks and a nice view. It is not an open air restaurant, however.
Perch at the top of the Fine Arts Building near Pershing Square now has Saturday brunch:
It is not a skyscraper, but it is a lovely historic building with fine views of downtown. There is open air seating and live music. We went for sunday brunch and loved it.
While hardly a high-rise, the Cafe Pinot in the Maguire Gardens adjacent to the Central Library has a very nice view, with patio, weather-permitting, and the food is quite good, not exemplary.
The roof of the Standard Hotel has burgers and such and is a great scene.
Thanks for the suggestions. Where is the standard hotel located? WP24 I dont think is open for lunch. The Perch sounds nice, and the Cafe Pinot may not be high enough for them
