I know this is a little off-topic, but does anyone know of any South-by-Southwest parties in Austin over the next few days. This is the time of year where you can enjoy free BBQ and beer almost every day if you know where the action is.

If you do, please share. Thanks, fellow hounds.

Hey!
I'm new to the board, and this isn't exactly SXSW, but Artz Rib House is catering my book launch party on March 21, 6:30 at BookPeople. Free BBQ--and free beer from St. Arnolds. There will be live music, too. And I'll read from my novel. AManda

Looks like a great book, Amanda. And a favorable quote from James Ellroy, too! Wish I were in Austin to hear you read from the novel, but, alas, I guess I'll just to order some takeout ribs and read the original.

If only I'd checked the board while in Austin---I was in town for both the music and film fests and had skads of afternoon activities for you.

The annuals are the fri and sat yard dog bashes. Very crowded, but good music. Food's no longer free, though. Label stuff was down this year, though there were more than a few options each afternoon.

Bring up the topic again next year, and I'll try to help you out!
