Cookies and brownies for school BBQ

I volunteered to bake for the end of year bbq...now what do I make? I'd like to do something different since I'm sure most people will bring oatmeal and chocolate chip. Nuts are allowed.

    Lemon bars

My mind goes to fruity, light tasting things this time of year ;-)

lmao. those strawberry bars sound good, but that link goes to a pic of that hot-mess kate gosselin.

    2. brown butter bars (amazingly good):

chipster topped brownies (I know you said no chocolate chips but these are different):

whoopie pies (always a big hit

surprise sleeper hit, saltine toffee candy (sweet, salty crunchy all at once):

Making the brown butter bars! Yum! I've made the saltine toffee candy before and it's delicious.

      2. My sister in law made these for her last cookout...I thought they were cute. She made some with a shortbread cookie base instead of a chocolate chip base.

The kids got a kick out of cookies that looked like "watermelon slices"

        1. I've made these banana blondies a few times with rave results.

this strawberry long cake is so easy and refreshing. Once baked, you can cut slices into bars, place on cupcake papers and serve.

Chocolate pound cake slices with sliced strawberries and Nutella! Make the pound cake the night before, slice into individual servings, top with Nutella and sliced strawberries. Serve on cupcake papers.

              2. Rice Krispie bars are always popular.

Another cookie we enjoy is this Cranberry Crispies recipe. It only makes 2 1/2 dozen, and is based on a boxed orange-cranberry bread mix. We like Krustez brand, which gives a crisper cookie; other brand yields a soft cookie. The cookies are wonderfully good.

I agree. PLUS there are so many variations to add. the outcome could be whatever you fancy at the moment.
just before Easter I did a version of Almond Joys RKT's. so fun-so good.
