Isabella's in Dedham

I had a business dinner at Isabella's in Dedham. Loved the setting, bustling yet cozy with the combo bench and chair seating. Our European waitress was amazing from start to finish. The wine list is impressive. I chose a crisp chilled rose. My only complaint is my aversion for the pre measured mini carafes. Moving the wine from glass to glass removes the chill component and what's the point, just pour the wine in the glass, please, keep it simple. I loved the commercially prepared roll. It was a Ciabatta mini and was hot and yeasty and great with the housemade bean dip. The meal selection is rather small but diverse and creative. I chose the seafood scampi. The pasta was homemade fettucine and perfectly al dente. The light lemony butter sauce was quite different and really delicious. There were 3 plump shrimp and about 6 plump PEI mussels. My colleagues loved their swordfish. My colleagues chose two desserts, a semolina cake that was plated well but tasted dry and a brownie hot fudge sundae that looked decadent. Our bill with 3 wines, tea, 2 desserts and 5 entrees was 170+ pre tip. Love this spot. Would definitely return.

It's always been a dependable restaurant; better than the chains @ Legacy Place.
