the new chef looks interesting. she is Karen Nicolas, the former executive chef at Washington, D.C.’s Equinox. One of Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chefs for 2012,
She sounds interesting, and also like she has a more conventional approach to modern fancy kosher restaurants - jazz it up with Sefardic influences. I liked the modernized-Ashkenaz take that Michael Solomonov had, and I'm sorry to see it go.
Given what the owner has said about his intentions for the restaurant I'm surprised he went with another name chef, and I'm also surprised she agreed to join him.
