Panera's new cherry limeade

Just a word of warning- UNDRINKABLE!! I don't usually get a beverage, but this sounded good on a hot day, so I thought I'd try it. For $4, I normally would finish it anyway because I'm cheap. But it was truly, truly awful. Way too sweet, a weird chemical flavor, and served with a boba straw so each sip is truly gag-worthy with the amount of sugar going down your gullet. Avoid!

I probably would not have tried it, but now I feel compelled to. Love a sugar overload! Thanks!

I am pretty lukewarm about Panera Bread in general. I think their sandwiches are way overpriced for the small amount of meat/veggies they put on it. There are only three things I go there for...Iced Green Tea, Danish Ring (8 assorted pastries in the shape of a ring), and their Cinnamon Crunch bagels. Otherwise, their food is not worth the money.

I don't eat any fast food at all as a rule, but when I'm stuck between clients, especially if I have my computer with me, it's one of the few places I can get something resembling proper food, so it's usually my go-to for a sandwich or salad while I get some work done. Their coffee is atrocious, so I usually just order water, but like I said, I thought I'd give the new drink a try. It's the first time in my life I have ever returned food for a refund. Just awful...

I like the cinnamon crunch bagels, too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have NO idea how Panera is so popular!?!?! Even their bagels suck! lol I can't agree with you more regarding their price point(s) vs. quality and quantity of their sandwiches.

That being said, I do like their soups. That's about it. Oh and bottomless coffee bar.

              "Even their bagels suck!"

If you're going anywhere but a real bagel shop that knows how to make a real bagel, then you are NOT going to get a bagel. You are going to get a donut-shaped piece of bread.

That's a good way to describe it. You would "think" that a "bread shop or store" would put an effort into a decent bagel, but no, theirs just suck.

If I saw something that looked like this, I would automatically assume it was overly sweet. What made you think this (what to me looks like a frozen "dessert") was not going to be overly sweet?

I didn't see a picture when I ordered it, I just saw it described on a poster. The description said: New! Frozen Cherry Limeade! That was it.

Sorry. I assumed there was a poster of it hanging near where you order. That's how the Panera here in town promotes new menu items.

So funny--I clicked because, from your title, my 1st question was: hmmm, wonder how sweet that is? Thanks--you saved me $4.

Thanks for the warning. I gave up on Panera's food a few years ago. They were quite good when they first came to my town but the descent was pretty quick. I used to really like their lemonade because it wasn't too sweet. I'll check that out to see if that has changed as well.

I dunno, I tried one today and I'd describe it as sweet/tart/crisp. Maybe it depends on the purée-to-ice ratio (?) Anyway, I just found myself wishing for a shot of tequila to mix into the cup to make it perfect...

I have found that overwhelmingly the drinks at Panera are plain terrible. And I agree with the other posters that the ratio of product to price for their sandwiches is lacking (plus if you watch closely, the sandwiches are pre-made and come out of a reach in refrigerator under their kitchen work station)

What I have found that is passable to order are the items on their "Secret Menu". Particularly the Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad or the Power Turkey Salad - low calories, high protein and none of their usual fat/calorie laden dressing.
