Do you create unique foods?

One night in Pittsburgh

ElStudHombre May 27, 2013 05:47 PM

I've traveled to Pittsburgh on business countless times, but this week will finally be there for an evening with my wife, hoping to find a good restaurant. We'll be staying downtown, in the Market Square area. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have not been to either restaurant, but I've heard good reviews of Sienna and NOLA

There are many, many good Pittsburgh restaurants including several downtown like Meat and Potatoes or Nine on Nine. Are you limited to downtown or are willing to travel to other areas of the city? A short cab ride can take to you to Cure or Notion, which IMHO are some of the best dining experiences that Pittsburgh is offering at the moment.

        Already some good recommendations:

Eleven is a little walk but very good.
        We enjoy Six Penn.

One of my favorite Italian restos, Il Pizziolo, recently opened a Market Square branch. I second NineOnNine. NOLA's food is mediocre, in my opinion. Sienna is ok but overpriced for what it is.

Pittsburgh is really coming along, maybe a bit behind, but finally some exciting options. Salt of the Earth, Cure, Meat and Potatoes, Sienna, Sonoma Grille and Verde are some of the better choices.
