Best downtown dim sum

I know all about San Gabriel for dim sum, but for tomorrow morning, I want to stay closer to home. Where should I go?

I like Ocean Seafood (served from carts and everything is fresh and hot) in Chinatown but great dim sum at Sea Harbour is only about 10 minutes farther down the 10 fwy.

Yeah, Ocean is the best. Skip the long lines and mediocre dim sum at Empress Pavilion.

Instead of settling for mediocre traditional dim sum, why not settle for mediocre Americanized dim sum at Chynna?

To their credit, they offer dim sum for dinner as well, which is a boon for non traditionalists like me. And they often have Groupon Now deals - just look.

But if I'm not going to make the SGV big drive and I want to eat in, I tend to head for CBS. Not as fancy looking as Ocean but, pretty good and, cheaper.

That said - where's home? King Hua in Alhambra is mighty nice, not too far (at least for me) and you can hit Fosselman's afterwards, if you have any tummy room left!

          I wasn't dissing Chynna.

          It is what it is.

My only point was that if you're given lemons, instead of always making lemonade, feel free to whip up a Lemon Jug.

CBS seems more than adequate to me.
