Navajo Taco Food Truck?

amysuehere May 24, 2013 06:43 PM

Warm fuzzy from when I did the Grand Canyon as a kid - I KNOW there's a food trailer in Austin that does Navajo Tacos. I'm hoping it isn't, but thinking it was part of the SOCO trailer park. Can anyone tell me?

Yup. That's the place (except picture 10 of 13, the OG taco, looks more like the ones I had). Thanks, slowcooked!

I'm coming home to Austin for a month and looking for places to try in addition to my usual haunts. I would really love to check this place out.

Which of Fat Cactus's fry bread tacos are know to be especially good? Any must-try items there?

I'm totally hijacking this thread. About a month ago we were in the same food trailer park, and decided to try "Hey!... You Gonna Eat or What?".
No time for a real review here, but i wanted to mention it, since i found nothing on chowhound about it. Lots of info on yelp, 99% 4-5 stars. Had the Texas rueben, which if i remember correctly had brisket, a spicy slaw, and pepper jack cheese. My friend had the Lone Star BLT (which had fried green tomatoes on it), IIRC, which she loved.
The owners run the place. The wife takes your orders, and the husband / chef cooks it and brings it out to you and explains exactly everything on the sandwich. Contrary to what is painted on the truck, no way are they Austin's rudest business. Really nice folks.
Ooops, i forgot, they make their own potato chips.

Tried to go today since I'm rarely south anymore, but they're closed on Tues/Weds. Bummer
