Thai restaurants in and around Royal Oak

proclusian May 24, 2013 09:51 AM

Headed up to Royal Oak for the day from Ann Arbor this weekend, and was wondering: it looks like there are four or five thai places in and around downtown. Does anyone have a favorite and (if so) what menu items do you think stand out? Also, if you think there is thai nearby but not in Royal Oak that would be better, and worth my going out of my way for, please weigh in.

Sure ... you can talk me into Vietnamese or Malaysian if there's something good there. Feel free.

I'd probably make the short drive to 13 Mile & Dequindre, not far from I75@I696, and hit Pho Hang, and right across the street is Satay House. This is a hot bed area for SE Asian food. Not that everything is great, but it is better for what it is, than R.O. Thai food for what that is.

I'm not a Thai expert by any means. but at 15 Mile (Maple) and Coolidge is Sala Thai. I've eaten there once and very much enjoyed it.
