Help me remember a restaurant name

richczarnecki May 23, 2013 11:40 AM

Several years ago, I had lunch at a casual place in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I sat at a bar near the entrance (with stools for dining - not a liquor bar) and had amazing elote, tacos, and a fried cheese thing that was shaped like it was formed around an old coffee can.

Does anyone know the place I'm thinking about? We are coming in the fall for our 25th anniversary and I want to go back.

Based on the menu items you listed (delicious elote, tacos, and chicharron de queso), it could have been Gallo Blanco Cafe in central Phoenix. That said, the "several years ago" argues for someplace else, as Gallo Blanco opened only 4 years ago.

That's it! I recognize/remember the taco holder and the chalkboard. Thanks much.

Glad I could help. I feel lucky to have Gallo Blanco so close to home--it's our go-to for nights when we're too pooped to cook or drive.

        Have fun!
