I'm heading to the grocery store on my way home from work, and welcome any suggestions!

  1. I'd pan fry some good sausage or a chunk of country ham.

    1. I would eat bubble & squeak with just about anything...sausage, pork chops, lamb chops, steak, salmon...

        1. I added diced chicken, cooked rice, & 5-spice powder to my cabbage & onion mixture tonight. From Irish to Chinese...ish.

          1. bacon

". The recipe below is for trinxat de la Cerdanya, the most commonly encountered kind -- a hearty mash of potatoes and cabbage, fried in a skillet-sized cake and garnished with fat back or smoky bacon."

            1. Smokey picnic ham is my favourite meat to use in this sort of dish.

              1. Thanks, all. I used bacon fat (and the bacon it rendered out of) to cook the B&S, and fried up some very tasty brats (can't remember the brand unfortunately, and the wrappings went out in the trash before I thought to look....)
