Where to go for the best Ramen noodles in Calgary

Specifically - Chili Goma Ramen - a buddy of mine has a friend flying in from Hawaii and this is her favourite dish - wants to impress her - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Oh dear. Are they considered good? I didn't like them at all the few times I went. Noodles are too soft and thin, broth was not strong enough.

LA Ramen places really spoiled me, I guess.

I haven't seen this particular dish anywhere else in Calgary.

Google can't find it anywhere else either. I mean on the planet. And every review is extremely positive, contrary to Shazam's in all respects, with some even saying the broth is too rich. All of those who claim to know Japanese ramen wrote that it is the closest thing to the real thing they've had outside of Japan.

            So, I'm puzzled. Shazam?

It's been years since I tried them - I went when they first opened.

So I should try them again?

I have been going for 2.5-3 years and can't get past it on the menu. I wish I could. Did order the takoyaki once to go along with it, very entertaining and tasty.

There are a few table additives, like a crushed pepper mixture and roasted garlic chips that you can add for more horsepower. I never have asked, but you could probably ask them to spice it up for you as well.

Sounds good. I'll give them another shot.

You should indeed. It's easily the richest, porkiest, nuttiest soup I've ever had in Calgary. It's got a great amount of spice and I've always found the noodles to have a nice chew to them.

Like Bill said, I find it very hard to get past on the menu. Dang, I'm way over due for a bowl...

Not only will I tell my friend about this place, I'm going to check it out myself - thanks for the feedback...

The pictures of the chili goma look like it is very oily, is that the case?

                1. I saw on twitter that Carino is going to make Ramen for lunch. I am not sure when but maybe worth a try.
