Tadich Grill coming to downtown DC.

Always loved Tadich Grill. Excellent fresh seafood simply prepared. Looks like they're going into the old Ten Penh location. I think Legal Seafood is in for some competition.

      I think you'd get the same level of discourse if Jaleo or Old Ebbitt opened a shop in SF. From what I hear, the management team will be the same as the one running the Joes Stone Crab that will open downtown. Good to hear the DC Tadich will at least be accepting reservations.

        I dunno, folks on that board seem to a bit concerned that DC won't 'get' it. nobody in DC batted an eye when Andres opened out West. or would, if say 1789 or Tabard decided to bother trying. (Ebbitt's with its corporate structure probably would easily make a go of it.) as fussy as DC is about it's relationship with NYC, SF is as self-conscious about the East Coast.

        I can see verbal fistfights/pissing contests occurring over oysters, crab etc. that's my prediction. it'll be interesting. and I like and welcome Tadich (just not those bar stools).

          That's a standard response to all things DC: nobody but politicians and lobbyists live there so how could they possibly appreciate anything good? The managing company looked at the numbers and saw that lots of people around DC spend lots of money dining out and they want some. My concern is how much of the original Tadich remains after adapting to local demands for vegetarian/vegan options and shaving down portion size to make it more in line with the small plates crowd.

            adapting to V/V demands in DC? compared to the Bay area, that'll be the easy part.

            Hm. Not exclusive enough. Maybe some gold leaf. Or maybe a hang town fry breakfast slider.
