Only one dinner in San Sebastian in October. Please help

Hi. Our first choice, Alkelarre, is closed. We LOVE good food and wine. I've read the previous posts, but all other restaurants seem to have drawbacks. What say you? Any help would be appreciated.

I would try Martin Barasategui, excellent food and service. Chef always comes out (like Akelarre) and says hi and checks if you like the food. Seafood dishes are very good.

Rekondo has a brilliant wine list and the food is solid. Arzak's wine list is also deep and very well priced and the food is as good as ever.

I'm a contrarian so take me w/a grain of salt. I think that wandering the old 1/4 and pintxo hoping is the way to go.

Ibai (Calle de Getaria, 15). Have been to SS twice and I've only recently discovered this place online. Sounds interesting and plan on going when I return in the fall. Here are some articles...

I believe Ibai is only open for lunch!
