Coffee and other eats near N. Racine and Wrightwood

We are visiting our son who lives on N. Racine just south of Wrightwood. Are there any good spots for a.m. coffee in walking distance or any other worthy places to eat in the neighborhood, for that matter?

  1. An Italian venue that I have enjoyed in the past (have not been recently though) is nearby - Rose Angelis. There is also a good upscale venue nearby called Sprout. For breakfast/brunch I have heard good things about Batter & Berries but have not yet dined there myself. There is a Starbucks right by Racine & Wrightwood, but not sure about non-chain cafes.

    1. If you're in the mood for a bit of a walk, stroll south half a mile or so on Racine and hang a right on Webster. Floriole Café & Bakery has good coffee, outstanding pastries and lovely soups/salads/sandwiches. I had cream of nettle soup there a couple of weeks ago and it was so delicious that I'm still thinking about it.
