Honolulu Vietnamese & Korean
I am here for my annual month! But So Gong Dong Korean BBQ at McCully Square is gone. Korean recommendations, please.
Also Vietnamese recommendations -- I love fresh rolls, tendon, bun & crepes.
Thoughts on where to find cold jellyfish?
Thanks so much, in advance.
i like han yang in kalihi but some consider the place grungy. it's clean enough for me.
choi's garden is a fave, but a little pricy.
there's always sorabol on keeamoku which is 24/7.
there are so many vietnamese restaurants now, but i like the green papaya, saigon's, mixed plate cafe. the pig and the lady can be found at the kcc farmers' market and has good reviews, but i have yet to try them.
i've had jellyfish in chinatown, not sure of the places.
So Gong Dong is now on Keeaumoku across from Walmart. I like Ah Lang a.k.a. Angry Korean Lady & Choi's Garden. There are a ton of Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown like Cuu Long, Kim An, Saigon, Song Huong. Outside of Chinatown I like Pho Nam & Pho Thinh.
Cold jellyfish is available at least from Ming's, Dew Drop In, and Fook Yuen I believe, though I have not been to the latter two in some time.
If you want some Korean Style Chinese don't forget On Dong or Eastern Paradise both on S. King between Keeamoku and Kalakaua. Great Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at both.
For fast food Korean you still can't beat Gina's at market city.
