organic produce at the JFX farmers market

amyatkendall May 17, 2013 06:48 AM

Can someone recommend particular stalls at the JFX farmers market for organic produce? I'm looking, for the most part, for organic, local greens.

If anyone has had a particularly good experience with a vendor I'd appreciate knowing. Thanks!

I've had mostly good experiences with Cat's Paw Farm in the past. Every now and then their spring lettuce can be extra-organic, if you know what I mean, so you have to wash it a bit more to get rid of the crawlies, but that's how you know it's the good stuff.

Calvert Farm has the best selection of organic. Cat's Paw is good with nice people but a lesser selection. I think these are the only two strictly organic stalls.

Yes, Calvert Farm, too! I think they're the only ones with ginger at the market, organic or otherwise. Just got some yesterday. Both these stands have proprietors genuinely interested and excited about their products.
