EMP dinner at 9:30PM. Is it too late?

Tried very hard to get a dinner reservation for my mom's birthday. But it is at 9:30PM. I know dinner there last very long so is it too late? I don't care how late I finish the dinner but do you think they would cut the quality of service or meal to "kick" us out faster?

My another option is Le Bernardin but I don't feel its tasting menu is comparable to EMP's just by looking at the names of courses. Can anyone advise on that?

Also, how much is the wine paring at EMP? Can I just order one wine paring since my mom and girlfriend only drink a little bit alcohol?

Thanks a lot.

As Spiritchaser said, your experience will not be affected.

This was my meal from last year when we dined with a 9:45pm reservation: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/859218

This was my meal from a few months ago for a more complete look at the experience: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/892924

I've had a pairing split between two people before, but the most recent time I asked I was told that they can no longer split the pairings due to the size of the pours.

Your experience WILL NOT be affected in the least. If you dine at 6:00 or 10:00 you will get the same incredible attention paided to you, the same quality of food, and the same wonderful all around experience. If you are okay with the time then I highly recommend you keep the reservation.

And are you asking if you can split a pairing 3 ways? I know they have done a 2 way split but not sure if they could tailor it to 3.

Ditto. All of my reservations have been at either 6:30 or 9 (with one at 9:30 even, I think). Stay up late and enjoy!
