Brasserie on 53rd
Feeling nostalgic...went there with SO before seeing Phantom...MANY years ago. Any CH'ers want to offer up their opinions of what it's like today?
Glad you posted this njmarshall. Just looked at this on opentable, like the menu, your thoughts fellow hounds?
Also under consideration, Le Perigord has a $65 prix fixe that sounds good. Which would you prefer, Brasserie or Le Perigord?
As it happens, I was there Wednesday night for dinner. It's not the place to go to be wowed or surprised, but they do what they do very well. I had beet salad with goat cheese, steak frites; companion had the soup (parsnip I think) and grilled tuna. Shared a tarte tatin for dessert. All excellent.
Thought the service was fine -- pacing was good, and our waiter kept a close eye on us without hovering.
I like the room -- bright, modern and lively.
