Recommended Chinese Dumpling recipe without cabbage?

Hi I want to make dumplings today but I don't have cabbage on hand and don't want to go to the store (again) but I do have ground pork.

any good recipe for a filling without cabbage?

  1. You can use lots of things for dumplings.

    Chinese chives, leeks, ramps, spinach and even American cabbage will work as long you blanch it first (given how tough it is).

    But my recommendation would be spinach. If you don't have fresh, you can use frozen, which might be better b/c it has less liquid.

        Let it defrost first (either in the microwave or on your kitchen counter) and then make sure to squeeze all the water from it.

    1. I never use cabbage!

      I use pork, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, shrimp and cellophane noodles.

      seasoning with oyster sauce, sesame oil, fish sauce, and S+P

        1. Thanks for the posts-since I had some frozen cleaned shrimp I went with this one - I did add one clove of garlic, less ginger and sesame oil

          1. i just use meat, garlic, ginger, scallions, soy, sesame oil.... i use an andrea nuygen recipe.
