I hope this isn't too specific, but are there any restaurants in the Montreal area that specialize in Italian food from Abruzzo?

Is Molise close enough? They were one region until fairly recently, and their foods are very similar. I'll try to think of another, as many Italian Montrealers are from these regions.

I haven't been there in many years, so I can say nothing about the current quality or authenticity of their food. They could be simply generic "restaurant Italian" as they mention "veal dishes"on their homepage, and those aren't much eaten in Abruzzo or Molise.

I was hoping that, with so many Montrealers from those regions, there WOULD be some restos specializing in that regional cuisine. Thanks for the link. I will check it out.

Actually, there's not as many of us Abruzzese in Montreal as you'd think. That said, I don't know of any resto in Montreal that does traditional Abruzzese food like scrupelle/scripelle imbus, timballo, caggionetti, ravioli pretarole (AKA lead pellets), etc. When I need my fix, I go to my mom's, mother-in-law's, or aunt's homes and mooch off them.

La Molisana seems to do traditional Italian with none of the Abruzzi specialties. I don't know enough about the food from Campobasso to know if their menu has specialties from that region.
