Mother's Day lunch for 3 - italian suggestions ?

Hi there! I'm looking for quite an upscale italian place for lunch (for example, perbacco, delfina) but unfortunately a lot of them are closed on Sundays or are not open during lunch. Is anyone else familiar with what's open?

Location can be anywhere from peninsula to SF, flexible. Thank you!

  1. Looking at OpenTable, Rose Pistola any time, Cotogna at 1:45, SPQR noon or 1:30. Those are the only good more or less upscale places that show availability.

my mom made reservations at farina
while I made it at SPQR

which one should we keep? thank you again!

    2. Donato Enoteca in Redwood City. Call Cotogna...Opentable shows availability for 2 ppl at noon so worth a call to see if they can accommodate one more. Also, Quince is doing a special brunch. Again, worth a call.

      Not Italian...Luce.

mmm I called cotogna, they mentioned how they have 3 tables outside for walk-ins. quite tempting...and also I made reservations at SPQR while my mom made one at Farina...what should we do? haha

From what I've read, SPQR. Also, nicer neighborhood for walking around than the Mission.

Farina's more Italian (draws a lot of Italian ex-pats), more spacious, and a little nicer though similar decor. SPQR has some French tendencies. Probably nicer weather in the Mission as well.

Might be a bit cool and breezy for sitting on the sidewalk at Cotogna.
