Araliya Sri Lankan

Does anyone know the status of this Sri Lankan restaurant in Jamaica (Queens)? The phone line is disconnected and the last time I tried a walk-in, the facade was intact but the restaurant was closed. Thanks.

Araliya is permanently closed, but a restaurant named Spicy Lanka, under new administration, is scheduled to take its place in mid-October.

      Hi all,

Any update on this? I passed Araliya by chance a few times recently, but it was not open (albeit this was on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after Christmas, so not the most likely times to find a business open.)

Is it definitely still shut with no transition over to this Spicy Lanka rebranding?

I thought I found somewhere that wouldn't have been covered yet, but no it's on CH :)

      Thanks,

      Justin

It's been slow going here, Justin. I wish there were more to say.

I was really looking forward to trying this place but had the exact same experience as you, about two months ago.

We've been sorely lacking Sri Lankan in this borough since Bownie closed.
