Cooking classes in NOLA?

I will be taking my first trip to NOLA next month, wondering if anyone here has taken classes down there? Looks like there are myriad options, all about the same price. Thanks!

  1. We have been to the New Orleans School of Cooking twice and had a blast each time. Mind you, it's not hand's on. The instructor cooks at the front of the room and then the class eats what's been prepared.

    That is one person's experience!

    Have a great time!

Dh and I did NOLA School of Cooking and also had a great time. We still use the recipes we learned there.

      2. We went to the New Orleans School of Cooking Easter weekend. It was a lot of fun AND it was an interesting history lesson! Food was good too, well except for the bread pudding. Coconut in bread pudding is just plain wrong!! For 28 bucks and change it's a good deal!

We all had a blast at Langlois - I've been twice and would recommend it to anyone.

          2. I agree with Monch, the new orleans school of cooking is a popular and fun place to take lessons. Its in the quarter so you can go explore once your class is over!

            1. Not wanting to hijack the thread, but has anyone done:

I'm now faced with a quandary for a milestone birthday during a visit to NOLA.

Do I have dinner at Brigtsen's...our hands down favorite....or do I take a class with Chef Frank at NOCE, that night?
