Amazing dinner at Septime

  • 5

First of all to get it out-of-the-way, David Beckham was there. Most of the patrons acted pretty cool though most gave a glance now & then.

1st course: herb based soup with asparagas & oysters
2nd: salad with a lightly cooked egg & barely cooked bacon & a variey of mushrooms
3rd: salt cod with crispy skin with the most delicious seared cabbage
4th: the moistest chicken breast & a piece of dark meat with yet more crispy skin
5th: (an extra @ 8 euros) 2 cheeses, a camembert & another I unfortunately can't remember
6th: raw milk sorbet
7th: ice cream with pieces of a delicious light cake.

Good very reasonable wine list. Charming service.

I made the res online on their website. I think it is around 21 days prior that u can book, but u have to hit it as soon as the date opens up because the best times obviously go first. I got 19:30, but they happenedto call our hotel to confirm when we were standing there. So I asked for later & got 21:30.

    2. And Beyoncé, hubby and kid 2 weeks ago for lunch.

Both Beyonce and Beckham at the same thread :-) That is nice.. Sill wondering about Septime, my lunch expirience there last year was really really underwhelming.. Not sure it was even an off day, just when "culinary thinking" brings to my table an entree that tries to "celebrate" a single leek, as good as it might be, a dessert that is based on pretty dull fromage blanc, makes me a bit upset now again to remember :-)

      2. I had almost the same menu there not too long ago except the starter was a yellowtail sashimi treatment.

What's cooler is that I was able to reserve the day of. Not sure how that happened but the guy said he was looking...looking...Yes! You have a table!
