I am looking for hibiscus syrup and ginger syrup in YYC. While ginger would probably be easy to make. Anyways, if somebody knows a good source, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I haven't seen hibiscus syrup however, hibiscus is also known as flor de jamaica (pron. ha-mike-a) - Salsita carries bags of dried Jamaica - I used it to make Agua Fresca last summer. Simple syrups are easy-sugar, water, jamaica and heat and you'll have homemade syrup in no time.

Hibiscus: I've also seen it in a few liquor stores. Also, try Cookbooks Co.

Ginger syrup: Purdy's makes one. I've seen Ginger People brand syrup at Planet Organic & Community Natural Foods as well.

I've seen the Hibiscus at the co-op liquor stores around town for sure (bought one jar from the richmond rd location). It's been marketed as a thing where you could put the flower in a champage flute and pour prosecco or cava over to make a cocktail.

Liquor store? I would have never thought of looking there.
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check that out!
