Best Bi Bim Bap in the Annex/Koreatown

Just moving back to the city, and know some of my go-tos have closed down.

Who's doing Bi Bim Bap well, these days, and with a nice variety of banchan?

  1. Haven't had the bibimbap, but IMO the best korean in Christie is Sunrise. I usually get the soondobu (so much better than buk chang), and spicy pork belly. army soup is good too.

    1. I live right near there. Best in the hood is Tofu Village/House of Soon Tofu.

      1. Just out of curiosity, does anyone like Owl of Minerva?

What is so special about it/why are there small line-ups at 2 am in the morning?

"why are there small line-ups at 2 am in the morning?"

          because it's open

Haha, but so are other places, like Lim Ga Ne where I eventually had to end up eating!

Cause its open 24 hours :)

I love their pork bone soup!!

I like Owl of Minerva but only for their pork bone soup. I think that's what most people go there for.

They only have about four things on the menu.

I always though so too at first, but they actually do have a large menu, just like other restaurants in the area.

However, food quality, even the pork bone soup, is very poor IMO.

            3. Ka-Chi, which is fantastic!! I've only tried the Kensington location, but they're owned by the same people, so I understand, and the Bloor St location is supposed to be just as good!!

              1. Not too long ago we had good banchan at Seor Ak San which is on Spadina south of College. Been meaning to go back.
