Peking Duck recommedations:

Looking for recommendations for the best Peking Duck in the Twin Cities.

  1. My brother just had the Peking Duck at Pings and really enjoed it.

      Is it traditional style? (carved at the table, first course is skin only--no meat on it at all)

      I'm on the lookout for traditional-style peking duck. Can't get it were I am anymore, so I'm hoping to get some my next time in MSP!

        I was going to say Ping's but it has been forever since I have been there. Good to know.

      2. Didn't someone post something about having lived in China for a number of years and having eaten Peking Duck numerous times and never having it served the way mentioned here - first course with skin only, etc.?

        1. Princess Garden in St Paul was the best I had ever had. The whole duck was presented at the table before being carved in the kitchen. The skin was not served separately, but the duck was tender/juicy and the skin was crispy with a nice amount of fat still under the skin. I am sure there's better out there, but old habits... Then the owners changed and I *heard* it went downhill. I haven't been back since the change. but if I don't get a good recommendation soon I am planning on a trip back there.

          I am surprised that there are so few posts on peking duck.
