All-I lived in Minneapolis in 2000-01 time frame and there used to be this delicious Chinese place in the suburbs someplace (I think up North but not sure) that I loved. It had great food and a delicious dish that was called something like the 21 Spiced Chicken. I know it is a reach but I am just wondering if anyone on this site new the name of it and if it was still around. I may go back soon and wanted to go there if it was still around as the dish was amazing. But I can't recall the name of the place and it was definitely about 30-45 minutes from down town. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, considering that there about 900 Chinese restaurants in the Metro, you need to be a little more specific. When you say, "up North", I am assuming that you mean the North Metro? And 30-45 minutes from downtown Minneapolis would place you in a rural area outside of the Twin Cities.

Could you be thinking of TeaHouse in Plymouth?

I think that pre-dates Tea House by several years.

Singapore Chinese Cuisine in Maplewood (north-ish) was a darling at that time. They had a "Captains Curry" that was made with 27 spices (and chicken).

Which I believe is still on the menu at Singapore in South Minneapolis.
