Brunch at Brennans

Haven't been to Brennens in years after I got disgusted that they were allowing people in shorts & flip flops in for Sunday brunch. So now, it's been about 15 or more years. We are thinking about going to brunch on Mother's Day. Does anyone know how much the 3 course brunch is now?
Thanks for any info or feedback.

    1. I might be off base but it strikes me as far too late to be trying to make Mother's Day reservations. I'd be very surprised if Brennan's or any of the traditional places (or newer places that are known for brunch, i.e. Atchafalaya) have anything available at this point.

But to answer your question, I think the prix fixe starts at $36, and then there are upcharges for many of the options.

Actually, we got a reservation for 1pm.

      2. Thanks Gizmo56. I've looked at the website, but they don't list prices which was what I needed.

I know, topeater. I gave you the contact info page so that you could call and inquire directly in order to receive the most current and reliable pricing, and then place your reservation if desired.

I have always been of the opinion this is the worst tourist trap in town. Extraordinarily overpriced, plastic menus, and mediocre food.

In a town with a myriad of wonderful restaurants, Brennan's,IMHO, is eminently skipable.

Had brunch at Brennan's two weeks ago and the service is wonderful but the food is sorely lacking. Much better food can be obtained in New Orleans however perhaps not at this late date. If you go ahead and dine there, the Mr. Funk is a great alternative to a mimosa. Enjoy!!!

        2. hopefully there won't be another Brennan family brawl

            1. Looking past any legal issues, it was many years between our visits to Brennan's - from about 1978, until maybe 2002. We were NOT fans, going back to our tenure in New Orleans, and we sort of forgot about it.

Then, fast-forward many years. We were in town for one of my wife's speaking engagements, and also her birthday. For some odd reason, I decided to book Brennan's, and they exceeded my expectations, and requited themselves very well.

We included them on our next trip, with Eastern European friends, and again, they came through.

On the next trip, those friends insisted that we go back. Again, very enjoyable meal.

All of those were brunch, though the first was Saturday, and the others Sunday.

I changed my mind completely, going from "I will not dine there," to "wow, that was just great, and on all points."
